The RAF are getting 9 P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft to be based at RAF Lossiemouth.
It's about time we got more anti-submarine aircraft; being an island surrounded by water makes them very necessary IMO, especially with Russian subs operating around our waters.

The British Army will get 50 new AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopters which have superior engines, an upgraded radar & the ability to control UAVs among other things.
It remains unclear if Augusta Westland will get any kind of contract to make modifications like then did with the AH-64D.

"Boeing expects to create about 2,000 new UK jobs in the coming years by expanding its maintenance and support operations for both military and commercial customers in Europe. "

Excellent news of course. Maybe brexit will give Boeing a more stronger chance to grow with UK customers?

Beyond that, being a nation with a requirement to look after over a million square miles of ocean and perform search and rescue missions, such an aircraft is nothing more than a basic necessity and long overdue.

I know the MRA4 had problems, but it shouldn't have been so abruptly scrapped with no interim solution.
