Im on cerazette and Ive recently had a bit of an upset stomach, leading to constipation/diarrhoea. It isn't that severe but it lead me to wonder how the pill actually releases the hormones to prevent pregnancy into the bodyDoes it get absorbed into the bloodstream shortly after consumption? Or is it digested? Is it reliable? (sorry if I sound thick!).

Im also using this Pill, I'm no doctor and just going on my own experience with it! But I was always told that the pill was not reliable if you were sick or had diarrhoea especially for more than 24 hours. The peak concentration time for the pill can be up to 2 hours. So if you have been sick within that time, it is classed as a missed pill.
It's better to use additional protection during this time, even though I doubt you'll be wanting to heat things up if you're suffering from diarrhoea but you never know lol! Hope this helps a little!

Hey, thanks for the reply! Do you know how long I have to take precautions until the pill is effective again? I keep reading different things on different sites: 2 days, 7 days, the duration of your illness plus 2 days.. Ive had the illness for about 3 days but its been very mild apart from 1.

I'm not sure on the exact number as everyone's bodies are different but definitely for the duration of the illness and as long as you're not vomitting or diarrhoea the pill should be effective straight away again! You should be protected as soon as it's stopped, given that you take the pill at the correct times etc!
