I started the year with three suits, two with trousers and skirt and one just skirt. Then mid way through the year I bought two more with trousers and skirts.

I didn't wear shirts really so I only had about five. As you get into the winter they're too chilly without a jumper and look too schoolish with. I bought a lot of basic knitwear stuff - v knecked jumpers etc. and I wore ordinary stuff a lot of the time, something like this http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=19551&storeId=12556&categoryId=74417&parent_category_rn=42325&productId=391804&langId=-1 or even this http://www.fc ukbuymail.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=72C

I had one pair of black high heels, one lowish black heels, one lowish brown heels that I bought specially but my mum has hundreds of pairs of shoes that I matched with my outfits so I'd buy a couple of pairs in muted colours as well - eg I wore purple shoes with purple scarf etc. You'll need them constantly reheeled if you only buy a couple of pairs anyway and as winter goes on you'll want smart boots if you don't already have any.

None, none & none ;D

I'm so glad I didn't go to a sixth form with a uniform/suit requirement.

...this is so unhelpful.
I've got 2 pairs of black pants, and about 9 shirts and I think 6/7 ties. Smart office dress we have.

I'm about to go into Sixth Form too. I've got the following:

3 Suits - Hugo Boss, Ozwald Boateng, Armani Collezioni (all with matching trousers)

9 Shirts - Pink, Blue, Black and White from Boss, M&S, Massimo Dutti, Thomas Pink, T.M.Lewin, Ted Baker

11 Ties - All sorts of colours, patterns etc. from Boss, Dutti, Armani, Missoni etc.

2 Shoes - Slip-ons and laces, from Prada and Howard Cartier

And some cufflinks for the T.M.Lewin shirts

Somebody has a rich daddy. I just had a couple of Burton suits and about 5 shirts.

If you do that for school what are you going to wear for work?
Someone must have a very rich mommy to spoil their child with that.

It's still an unbelievably expensive set of stuff. Hugo Boss? Most businessmen can't afford that. ARMANI?

I agree. Must have cost you thousands for that lot! Well fair enough if you have the money thats what I say. I always feel guilty making my parents pay for all my stuff tbh

No uniform needed for 6th form so can use my clothes but I will be upgrading my wadrobe with 500 pounds worth of clothes in late August.
I agree. I have one expensive suit but three?! It just seems like a waste of money to me - you're only going to wear it for school and by the time you get a proper job you'll be bored of it (well I'm certainly bored of mine!). No one really cares what guys wear anyway.
I didn't have a uniform/dress code for sixth form, although I wouldn't have minded one. I'm on a teaching placement at my old school at the moment and I have 7 blouses (two black, two white, two red and one yellow), 3 pairs of black trousers (two pinstripe and one plain), a black pinstripe jacket, 2 pairs of black shoes and 2 pairs of black boots. I was going to buy a few black and navy skirts (to go with my navy jacket) and possibly a plain black jacket, but then I thought skirts would probably be too optimistic with the current weather anyway!

Surely you would prefer to wear a suit compared to casual clothes. I do anyway, I don't know why just looks nicer.lol

Can i ask, is that a Secondary placement? Are you looking to becoming a teacher?

Well, to be fair, a) I paid for half of it out of my own money, b) I'm wearing them to work experience etc. I needed some stuff as well. I previously had no suits, shirts (aside from cheap M&S white ones), shoes etc.

To be fair, most people don't. I don't. :s-smilie:
Anyway....
