    Hi,
Basically I live at home but I've fallen out with my parents (I doubt it will be resolved, I won't go into details but it got nasty) and there is absolutely no chance they will support me at university. My maintenance loan just covers my Accomidation, but nothing else, and my job can't get me a transfer as the other store has no vacancies. I still live at home but I have to support myself and my wage is awful. I was hoping for my parents financial support at university but this is not going to happen, so im left to fend for my self there too. Is there any chance student finance would be able to offer me some form of grant to help me with basic food costs? My extended family won't support me as they can't afford it, and I've been contemplating moving out but I have no money for anywhere to go. I'm going to ring student finance in the morning but I just don't want it to be a waste of time 😩 I want to go to uni so bad as it means I can better myself, but I have no one to support me!

I m incredibly sorry, but the only way it wouldn't be based on your parents income is if you had reasonable grounds to claim estrangement (you have to have cut contact for a year for that) / or you meet the age/married criteria. Speak to your uni about anything they might have available but otherwise i'd suggest taking a gap year to come up with funds and/or cut contact completely during that year and move out.
