    Hello,

For a while I have noticed some small insects crawling around my room. Usually I will see them crawling on/in books or even on the screen of my laptop/handheld games consoles, etc. If I leave a book closed any where in my room for a day or two, chances are that I will notice a bug crawling on it.

They are really small: about the size of a dot made by a biro pen, and seem to be white or black on different occasions.

I have no idea what they are; searching for it online doesn't help. Bed bugs seem to be much larger so I can't see it being that.

    Anyone else experience this?

They could be psocids (booklice). They like to live in slightly damp environments, especially where there is paper or dry food!

Seems like the one, especially when they are described as having different varieties and stuff. It just feels horrible/dirty knowing that I could be reading a book and be touching them and their eggs and stuff.

The information online is a bit crap to be honest; some saying to freeze or microwave each individual book, and others say that pesticides don't work on them, etc.

This looks a like a problem that will never end.

My room is quite big with loads of books and boxes and stuff out in the open, so apart from dusting and vacuuming it's quite difficult. I definitely need to have a clear out though.

I feel like getting rid of everything.

I've also noticed them in other rooms too though.
