    VA144 – Parliamentary Oath Amendment
Proposed by: Unown Uzer MP (UKIP)
Seconded by: hazzer1998 MP (UKIP), Jammy Duel MP (Con), Nigel Farage MEP MP (UKIP), Trapping MP (UKIP), welshiee MP (UKIP)

    Parliamentary Oath Amendment

This House shall adjust the Guidance Document as follows:
Three new clauses (13), (14), and (15) shall be added to Section 2 of the Guidance Document (MPs).

The new clause (13) shall read:
"An MP is not entitled to a seat in the Model House of Commons and shall not be granted the ability to vote in the division lobby until he has taken an Oath of Allegiance or has made a solemn affirmation for the term of Parliament in which he seeks to take his seat and be granted voting rights in division, using the wording of the Oath of Allegiance or solemn affirmation as stated in this section. The Speaker shall open and maintain a specialised thread for MPs to take an Oath of Allegiance or make a solemn affirmation, and an MP shall take their Oath of Allegiance or make a solemn affirmation in said specialised thread before he is allowed to take his seat or be granted the ability to vote in the division lobby."

The new clause (14) shall read:
"The wording of the Oath of Allegiance is: 'I, [insert username here], swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, her heirs and successors, according to law. So help me God.' When taking an Oath of Allegiance, an MP shall insert his username wherever the wording of the Oath of Allegiance contains '[insert username here]'."

The new clause (15) shall read:
"The wording of the solemn affirmation is: 'I, [insert username here], do solemnly, sincerely and truly declare and affirm that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, her heirs and successors, according to law.' When making a solemn affirmation, an MP shall insert his username wherever the wording of the solemn affirmation contains '[insert username here]'."

    Notes:
In order to make the MHoC simulate the RL HoC more accurately, MPs shall be required to take an Oath of Allegiance or solemn affirmation, as that is what MPs need to do to be granted voting rights in real life.

The lack of alternate oaths for those of different or no faith and the lack of an option to swear allegiance to the people and not the Monarch make what is an already tedious and pointless amendment utterly impossible for me to support.
