If you don’t get the results you wanted, you need a plan B. Here’s how clearing works in three simple steps from Biosciences student, Katie.

    Step 1.
    Check UCAS Track.
Before you do anything else, check UCAS Track to see if your first or second choice university has confirmed your place. If not, it’s time to enter clearing.

    Step 2.
    Make the call.
All universities will have a clearing phone number. Ours is 0330 024 6390.
When you ring up, you’ll need a full list of your results, plus your GCSE grades.

Be prepared to talk about why you want to study the course. Think about what you wrote in your personal statement.Universities often want to email you with details of an offer.

Make sure you use an email address you can check regularly.

    Step 3.
    Accept your offer.
When a university offers you a place, log into UCAS Track and add your clearing choice to accept your offer.

Be the first to find out about our clearing courses.

    Good luck!
