Accounting required a higher grade. I study IB and it needs 37 points + 6,6,6 in higher level + 6 in Maths + 5 in English. Accounting is also better equipped to become accountant. The uni will try to help you to get a job in the "big 4".

I also applied to both and received both offers however I declined Lancaster and firmed Manchester as its a great university and very close to home! However both unis are fantastic and Lancaster is actually higher on the league tables for accounting and finance. I think it's on number 5.
Which have you picked for your firm choice?

The only reason I didn't apply for accounting itself was because I would have needed a grade A in maths GCSE however I have a grade B which is the requirement for accounting and finance- not sure of the difference though, I'm guessing accounting is more practical?
