LibDems take seats from UKIP and Conservatives in some of the most Brexy parts of the country. From Independent:"The party took seats off Ukip and the Tories in Newquay and North Norfolk respectively. They also made gains at the expense of independents in Cornwall and Wiltshire."(North Norfolk and Cornwall some of the most Brexy places in the UK and the LibDems took seats!

The point is, its a post-brexit election, at it looks like the BREXITS are in retreat.

Yes it is a small victory, but it is a victory in the right direction.

I got a private message from TSR saying the above message was "unhelpful" (I'm assuming its this one as they dont seem to say which one).

If its this one (or anyone) I really do apologise and thanks for checking it out for me.

You're all doing a good job (I just wanted to say this but you cant normally reply so I thought I do it here).

I guess I can see its not "helpful" - I know that is a bit ambiguous as to what "help" actually is in a political discussion but I do get the drift, I think

    Anyway
Thanks for making me think a bit - good job

Latest Ipsos Mori poll (before TM became PM) shows a minor 'remain' gain in the polls -
    Con (36%) - Lab (35%) - UKIP (8%) - Lib Dem (11%) - SNP (5%) - Green (4%)
Using the poll above (assuming the poll is correct - which it won't be due to the shy Tory effect), the Scottish Parliament FPTP results and electoral calculus it gives these seat totals :
    Con (299) - Lab (259) - UKIP (1) - Lib Dem (14) - SNP (55) - Green (1) - Plaid (3) - NI (18)

So it's not really a breakthrough considering the Tories worst polling is probably now over and they are entering a honeymoon period under May. Lib Dems are no where near the 50-60 odd seats they had at their peak.

Oh ffs, they are taking the votes of LABOUR, due to Corbyn being a wimpy little non leader, rather than the votes of UKIP and the Tories.

I like the fact you're getting your hopes up. When those hopes are crushed and reality sinks in, it's only going to make it sweeter.

From the article: "the local gains will have little impact on national politics".
