M397 – National Security Motion 2016, TSR UK Independence Party
Another terrorist attack in France brings a new wave of celebrity luvvies posting pointless pictures of a tealight candle with the meaningless word of solidarity attached to the post. The naive liberals in society will again hold a candlelight vigil, will again create a #PrayForNice hashtag which explodes to create a thousands offshoot hashtags, politicians will repeat the need to be tolerant, and liberals will repeat their calls to stand united, to stand united in countries that should not be tore apart.

Religion will not solve the problem, praying will not solve the problem, solidarity is a meaningless gesture for individuals to feel as if they are doing something, and countries are destabilised: countries have been ripped apart. France is in a perpetual state of emergency, and its citizens continue to tolerate being sitting ducks for Islamic terrorists. The current response to terrorist attacks has us sitting like ducks, waiting to be blown up: helpless, pathetic, slow. Liberal left-wing politicians have taken to the airways telling us to remember the good in most people, Muslim leaders continually dismiss radical Islamic terrorism as having nothing to do with Islam, and the same defence of uncontrolled immigration is made when the attacker was known to the police as being dangerous; the attacked was Tunisian.

This house calls on the government to end the feeble sitting duck response, this house calls on the government to increase the military presence in Syria, Libya, and Iraq by committing to boots on the ground to fight Islamic terrorism; and authorise the use of military force in Egypt to help stop the spread of ISIL.

So tell me how exactly soldiers in the middle east, attacks on Egypt and controlling immigration of Europeans would have stopped an attacker from Tunisia?

Yeah no. Also from what I have read the person was a French Tunisian, as in had duel citizenship, and was just one of 40,000 people in Nice who have Tunisian heritage, one of 120,000 in the wider region. He smoked, drank, gambled and wasn't known to any local mosques. Whatever happened wasn't due to Islam and local muslims, or the Islamic faith as a whole. This motion does nothing but blame immigration and Islam and try to **** on 'liberals'.

Military action in foreign countries will not stop people being radicalised within their own countries in the West. This motion won't help.

Nay. Increased military action is only likely to increase the amount of terror attacks that take place.

There is little to add to what has already been said. This reactionary motion will do more harm than good.

Once again, due to the central role of information not available to the public in military matters, it is beyond silly for any MHoC member to make any pronouncements on military policy. Nay.

We should bomb the **** out of ISIS! I'd blow up the pipes, I'd blow up the refineries, I'd blow up every inch , there would be nothing left.

The other thing with the terrorists is you have to take out their families, when you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families. They care about their lives, don't kid yourself. When they say they don't care about their lives, you have to take out their families.

And when we are done, we have to take the oil. We have to be smart about this.

If we want these terrorist attacks to stop, we have to stop being so politically correct. I would bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding to deal with these terrorists, and we have got to call it by its name - radical Islamic terrorism, which many on the left refuse to call.

Everyone, I present to you the Leader of TSR UKIP - willing to take out the lives of innocent people to win a war, making him no better than the terrorists themselves!

The word innocent is bandied about a lot these days, and foreign "innocents" seem to be much more valuable than domestic "innocents" and the "innocents" of allies.

Not at all. Each and every one is just as valuable. How about we try to not kill any civilians?

How about we try to win the wars? Do you know what Europe would look like now if we had never killed a single civilian?

How about we abide by the Geneva convention and our international obligations and not use a ridiculous, unnecessary amount of force. If you want it to be over, just nuke the place.

It's about minimising civilian casualties. If we just go round indiscriminately killing people we are just as bad as the people we are fighting.

Pretty sure Geneva doesn't say no casualties, it states minimal. No civilian casualties would see an EU with a red, white, and black flag, not a blue and yellow one.
