Can I accept a clearing choice even if I am holding offers that aren't in clearing? Watch

    So I have recently received all my offers, but since I received my offers I have spoken to a university that had come up through clearing and they have offered me a place. The place I have been offered through clearing is the university that I wish to accept, but I still have offers from the original universities that I applied for. How do I accept the clearing offer?

    Are they just offers rather than accepted firm and insurance choices? If so just reject those offers and wait till you get your clearing number (the university shouldn't have given you an offer without it,tbh) and then add it as a clearing choice.

    Hi Claireestelle, they are offers not accepted firm and insurance choices. I am just worried because the university have given me 48 hours to accept their offer or they consider that I am no longer interested in a place.

    You need to decline all previous offers if you are dead set on getting a clearing offer

    48 working hours or do you have Monday and Tuesday? What you need to do is decline your offers on your track and speak to ucas about how long a clearing number will take to get. You shouldn't and neither should the university have given you the offer without being in clearing so you ll just have to hope the ucas system is quick in this situation. I presume you don't want to name and shame the uni in this situation?

    Hi, I spoke to the university informally enquiring as to if they would accept me with my grades or not. They replied stating that they would; originally, I thought that they wouldn't this is why I didn't add them as an initial choice
