This is a question for students studying medicine at Southampton.

I start on the BM5 this September and I'm trying to figure out whether Mayflower or Glen Eyre halls would be better- I'm leaning towards Mayflower, for many reasons, but wonder if living there would leave me somewhat separated from the bulk of the medic community and events/plus if there are any difficulties getting to Southampton General hospital. Do any of you have experience/knowledge of what it's like for a medicine student to live there?

Any and all opinions welcome. Thanks!

Depends how you're planning on getting around. If you have a bike either is easy, is you're going to rely on the bus then I'd go for glen eyre. It's close to campus for when you're there and easy trip to the general for lectures etc there. Also a really good community up there. Mayflower is literally in the middle of the city so in my opinion it's a bit **** cos it's surrounded by traffic etc, but if you're into clubbing and stuff it's handy. Also it's newer so it's nicer.
