This guy invited me to his party but he's in the next town so I had to catch the train. I've never travelled out of town without my parents and I got really scared for some reason. I was a street away from the station where I bottled it and text him saying my grandma fell so I had to go home (which she did but it was yesterday). [also I knew no one at his party and I'm so nervous around new people].

Right now I feel so guilty and stupid. I'm such an idiot. I feel like I can never face him because I said that. Should I tell him because I just feel like a total *****?

Just tell him you lied because you were nervous. Any decent person will understand, he might tease you for it or something but yeah, that's how you learn

just tell him, if he is understandable enough then he'll understand your reason of lying
