My hamster died :( The aftermath

And it's my fault, I've just been caught up doing other things and crashing in my brothers room for the past week watching films and I forgot all bout' my hamster in my room, forgetting to feed him. A week later I get woken up to my sister telling my mother he died. I felt so bad, the guilt is eating me up. I know this may sound pathetic to some but I really did love that little critter. He was more of a friend than any of my real friends. I even had thoughts of kicking anyones ass if they brought any harm to him and now, ironically I was the one who killed him. I know you'll say "don't worry, it's only a hamster" but that doesn't make the guilt go away and it's making me depressed as hell.

Sorry for the rant, have to get it off my chest somehow... :frown:

Erm, forgive me for being harsh here, but surely if you loved him so much, you wouldn't just 'forget' him for a week? :s-smilie:

You forgot to feed him for a week? How? How the hell does anyone 'forget' they have a pet? I just can't really feel any sympathy for you. It's really unforgivable that, I can't understand how anyone can be so neglectful. Poor little guy, God bless him.

I agree. I'm a dumbass ****-up. I don't deserve any sympathy.
But can you explain how you forgot him? I'm really struggling to fathom how you can forget the existence of a pet that you claim to love so much for a whole week?!

The hamster is in my room and I feed and check up on him when I wake up and go to sleep. But I haven't been in room for over a week and I forgot all about him... :frown:

I have a hamster and I don't really like it since it doesn't do very much. Although I do keep it changed regularly, fed and watered. If you loved it so much how the hell do you forget it for a week? :s-smilie:
Just saw this bit because I skimmed through before.

He was more of a friend than any of my real friends.

I hope you never become responsible in the feeding of your real friends.

Plus results stress and everything has been getting to me :frown: **** it, I'm not going to make excuses. I screwed up greatly and as a result, my hamster died. I have no reason for forgetting to feed him, but like I said stress has got the better part of me.

ROFL If you weren't anonomous I would rep you that post was so hilarious Anyway it prob died of natural causes they are designed to be able to go without food for ages. New ones only cost about a fiver I think, I put bleach in my hamsters water bottle when I got bored of looking after it so it died then I though might as well get another one a year later as I was bored it cost about six quid I think.

Hamster store food and will eat, crumbs anything if they are hungry, im sure they can survive a week without food, they would be thin but are you sure it was only a week?? Im sure things that you are very fond of can be forgotten if they are at the back of your mind but still thats aweful!

Saruman, don't be mean you should like your hamster maybe get him out and spend a bit more time with him? You did choose him.

Whoop*

I apologies, I merely left out a letter whilst I was trying to comprehend why such a thread exists. What do you hope to achieve as quite clearly this is a farce from start to finish. If you loved and cared for your pet as much as you state then you would not have left it unattended for a week. God help any human ever left in your care.

Perhaps you should take a hard long look in the mirror because I doubt you deserve to be trusted with a pet.
