Dating frustrations

I have been single for 5 years which may seem a long time for some people. I have tried hard to meet someone but not had much luck. I have tried Plenty of Fish and found most of the guys don't work and eHarmony was full of dormant profiles. i joined meetup.com groups, I know it isn't a dating site but when I have met a guy I like I find that the guys are socially awkward and will watch you from across the room or stammer when talking. A lot of the people who do go to these groups you don't see again or say they are coming but don't show up.

I go out with friends and acquaintances to take my mind off all of this and I always get asked by people 'how is the dating going?' This gets me down as I am trying to take my mind off it and yet they keep asking and then saying the guys are fools. Does anyone know where I can meet someone who is reliable without these social issues?
Are you being picky? A lot of girls who use dating sites are very picky. Just a question. :smile:
