The type of measures being greater snooping from security agencies, more powers to detain/limit the liberty of people suspected of extremism, powers to close religious sites suspected of fostering extremism, etc.

Or do you feel we should not sacrifice more of our liberty for security?

Yes there should be more monitoring and greater powers to the security services.

I support having more armed police protecting large crowds, such as the Bastille Day gatherings, and also more armed security at likely places of attack.

If we start having authoritatian-style measures, terrorists will adapt and learn to evade it - meaning the majority surrenders their privacy unnecessary. Its impossible to detect ill intent from an individual if they keep to themselves and are very cautious. And these measures would only warrant caution for terrorists.

No. There is no evidence to suggest that greater authority will yield better results.
