I recently had some guests come to my house from abroad and they stayed at my house for a few days.

We slept late and they were having beer whilst I was having just juice and one of the guests said he liked me as a person. But he said when he first met me I came across as a bad guy and someone who even he found couldn't talk to. He said I am very humble and nice but he also said that society in this day and age tend to judge on first impressions.

His words of criticism were good actually and it gave me a serious reality check. I may have not had as many friends due to this. I may have not noticed this and others may have not been as open and as straight forward as this guy. I once went to an interview too and the interviewer said I was quite bright intellectually but he thought I lacked confidence.

I also made a previous post about being a bit controlling of my sibling and that too I want to change.

How do I change the way perceive me? I tend to not speak in large crowds and what not

There is no way for us to give you specific advice on how to change this without knowing the reasons why people think you come across as a bad guy.

Ask your friends who have said this why you come across this way, then work on those reasons to change how you come across. Pretty simple.
