    Hi guys,

I would like to know if there is an opportunity for EU students to get loan for accommodation as well?
Or because I am not a citizen, there is no way I can get anything else then tuition fee loan?

Thank you for your help in advance.

EU students are only eligible for help with living costs if they meet the residency rules (living in the UK for 5 years before the start of their course) or classify as a working migrant (so have been in employment in the UK).

Hi we are getting really confusing information about applying for the postgraduate loan. Can an EU student apply or not? on one part of the site it doesn't say they cant, on another area it says MAYBE eligible as long as they are living in UK before the start of the course? on another part it says that an EU student can apply if they have lived in the uk for 3 years before the course commences. Below your advice says 5 years?

PLEASE help... I am taking calls now from potential EU students who think they may not be able to apply for the loan.

The restriction on residency is for UNDERGRADUATE (UG) MAINTENANCE LOANS

All EU students can apply for and get the UG tuition fee loan.

Those who applied for UG finance before April 2015 can get maintenance loans if they've been resident in the UK for 3 years.
Those who applied for UG finance AFTER April 2015 can get maintenance loans if they've been resident in the UK for 5 years.

None of these restrictions apply to the POSTGRADUATE loans.

Any EU nationals who have been resident in the EEA or Switzerland for 3 years before the start of their course is eligible for the PGL.

"If you’re an EU national and have been living in the EEA or Switzerland for at least three years before the start of your course you’ll also be able to apply for a Postgraduate Loan."
