I'm starting a course in Commercial Music in September and I'll need a new computer that'll be able to cope with the work. Any suggestions?

Commercial music means, for better or worse, Pro Tools. So why not take a look here: http://www.avid.com/pro-tools/compar...m-RequirementsI'd go for much more RAM than that and also a decent sized SSD and a BIG HDD.Oh, and most importantly - an external audio interface! Ask your course organiser what they would recommend.

For use with a DAW I'd get a Mac Book. I hate apple products but logic is a solid DAW but sadly on available on IOS. No need to get ProTools as LogicPro will do the same, maybe even better for a much lower price. Also Apple have discounted price for students.
