I needed somewhere to write this because it's bothering me more and more. So I'm finishing my third year of uni, and this year has been quite rocky for me. I struggled with my projects especially one that went with my thesis. I found out that I failed this project. I have a chance to re submit and still graduate but the only thing is my ceremony will be next year. It shouldn't bother me as much as it does but seeing all my friends in their robes and collecting their degrees, just makes me feel terrible.I feel like I let everyone down and with every photo I see or every family member that asks, it just gets worse.

You really just have to get on with it. Do the best you can, that's all you can do and make sure you know what's expected so you can do well. Focus on you and don't worry about everyone else. You'll find that these things matter less in the grand scheme of things. Good luck!

Echoing what Alleycat said. However, there's nothing stopping you from requesting to go or not to go at their graduation. If I were you, I would go to your classes graduation only if you like them and have close bonds with some of them. But if you didn't just rock on with it and focus on doing your thesis the correct way this time.

I do like them and I am gonna go, but it's just small things like when they have a group photo and knowing I won't be a part of it.

How do you "know". Be a part of it by asking everyone to come in the photo that you take. It clearly isn't that hard. If you like them and have a good friendship with them, then asking them to join you in your own photo should not be awkward at all.

If I were you, I'd only get pictures with a small amount of the closer friends. It doesn't matter if you have to take photos with separate people 10 times. I'd rather that than be at the back of a photo full of 30 people I never spoke to during 3 years.

    You see what I'm saying?
