    Hi,
I got 3A* 6A 1B in my olevel with As throughout the 3 years on my transcript. In A1 I've gotten 4A 1D in my midterms and 3A 2C in my finals. The Cs and D worry me since I want to apply to the IVs and Oxbridge for Engineering. I've given the SAT and am expecting around a 1400. Retaking the first year of A-level will considerably improve my transcript since I've been studying hard and am quite certain of my ability to get As and A*s. I'll also get a chance to retake the SAT 1 and give SAT 2, not to mention a boost in my extra curricular. I've been doing a lot of charity work teaching under privileged children so I could pass off the year as a gap year during which I did a lot of charity work, which I did. Is retaking the first year of A-level the right decision to help me get into the college of my dreams? Let me know what you think.

By the sounds of it, you're on about some American or International Qualification?

Cambridge says they do not mind if students retake one or two AS or A2 units: http://www.undergraduate.study.cam.a...irements-facts

Oxford is a bit more complicated. So I recommend you start with their international qualifications and have a nose round on their website for more details: https://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/unde...cations?wssl=1
