I've always wanted to work in the tv industry but was told not to go directly into it through a degree because of the lack of opportunities and possible waste of money; (i understand that it is an incredibly competitive industry but i'm willing to work hard).
Instead of doing a degree like television production or screenwriting I opted for a more flexible degree - Joint honours English Language and Media. Even though I was told a degree in media wasn't really a degree I still chose it.
What i'm really asking is must i have a specific degree to work in the tv industry or can I do a degree somewhat related to it?
and also must i do a degree in London to work in the tv industry?
ps i also know experience is crucial.

Have a look at jobs you're interested in and see what the requirements are. I suspect what degree you do won't make a difference. As you say experience is crucial.
