So I'm moving into private accommodation next year and was wondering what sort of internet speed a house of 7 reasonably heavy internet users would need. (Daily Gaming, Streaming, YouTube, Facebook, etc.) ??

High would be the answer (assuming you'll all be gaming, streaming, etc.). If only one or two of you are heavy users you'd get away with a mid level package but on the whole multiple users will demand higher speeds. There are other things you want to consider though, such as the bandwidth that's provided, the router itself (how well can it support 7 simlultaneous users, each with potentially 2 or 3 devices) and the coverage of said router.

7 is a fairly high number of users when you consider many families are around the 3-5 user area. You'll be looking at the high end packages regardless of which ISP you elect to go with.
