I'm looking to go to cornwall soon to visit someone but unfortunately I'm low on funds. I was thinking of taking megabus or national express but the time it took to get there plus the reviews completely put me off. I was considering bla bla car as it seems pretty trust worthy and cheap but ideally I'd rather take the train. Does anyone know any train lines for £100 or less? I know that if I buy a rail card I can get cheaper fares but there's no point considering at this moment in time, me going down there is a one off so I wouldn't ever use the railcard again. I can't drive down there either as my car's got a problem and I have no idea when it will be fixed. Any suggestions appreciated.

As far as I know, rail fares don't differ much according to lines. You do have the option of having many connections but usually the fare given to you is the best for a certain connection A to B.

I'd advise using thetrainline and having a play around with dates and times. One option you have is to split the journey. If there's a key interchange somewhere along the journey, sometimes it works in your favour to split the journey into two and get separate tickets for these.

All of this being said, I don't see any journey in the UK costing over £100. Where are you travelling from?

I'm travelling from London, the prices I've been given go way past £100 especially train wise, the cheapest I've found was £116 and the biggest problem for me is that I will only be down there for 2 days maximum which is why I was planning to take the coach as its worth the money.
