Hey so I'm not too sure if this is the right topic but it is sorta to do with my family so i figured, go for it.

My last name used to be double-barrelled, my dad and mum's last names. I changed it to just my mum's last name, which she knew i was going to do anyway. However I also changed my middle name.

My deed poll has now arrived and i need a witness. I don't have any friends 18 or over that my parents dont know, and I can't ask those that my parents do know otherwise they would tell my parents. I'm not sure who to ask.

I live in the Oxford area if that helps haha, but yeah, who can I ask to be my witness? I need it done ASAP so I can send it back to them for the office to make my legal copies.

If you really don't have anyone then you can try getting a solicitor to do that. You will obviously have to pay them tho. You can also use teachers or other professionals you're in contact with, like coworkers. As long as they don't talk to your parents.

Why don't you want your parents to know you changed your middle name?

Have you not thought about getting a doctor or a priest to do it?
