I'm interested in Media and Communications at BCU, respectively Media and Public Relations at SHU. Which would you recommend? What was/is it like studying there?

    Hey!

Lydia here from BCU Firstly, they're both great cities so good choice!

I studied at BCU and although I didn't study Media I studied in the same faculty and building and a lot of my friends were on that course. I know they really enjoyed it and it was really practical and the broad course allows you to cover a few different areas rather than specialising in just one. The tutors are great and super helpful (and have tonnes of experience in the industry).

The campus is also cool, everyone is friendly and you have access to some pretty awesome facilities (including the biggest University Green screen in the UK!). Plus there's loads of extra curricular stuff to get involved in.

Birmingham and Sheffield are both great student cities, but I moved from near Sheffield to come to Birmingham for uni 5 years ago and have never gone back since graduating, I love it here, there's so much to do!

Hopefully this helps a bit (although of course I'm biased), but just shout if you have any further questions and I'll do my best to answer them!

Thank you for replying! In the meantime I have already made up my mind and the obvious choice is Birmingham. It seems like the courses are custom tailored for me haha. Looking forward to applying and studying there!
