I'm gonna be starting a new job soon and I'm fresh out of uni. I didn't make that many friends at uni to be honest.

But I think working will be different, because i won't know anyone and everyone's a different age and the fact that I'm new and most of my colleagues have been there for a while, i might not fit in.

The fact that I am shy and not very talkative and suffer from mild social anxiety, I don't really wanna be that guy who's just there and no one knows. I want to fit in and make friends, but how can I do that in the workplace

    Help please

Be yourself.Although you're shy,You'll eventually get to be normal around them. You don't want a fake personality for friends,So be yourself and you'll attract people who think you're interesting.Speaking from experience I'm somewhat shy and occasionally cold to other people at school(A bit of superiority complex originating from family issues) yet somehow I still manage to attract other classmates.
Work should be the same as the 'transfer student' situation except the ages of people vary.
