I personally find places like New York and Vegas vile, but whatever floats your boat, i don't know much about California but Florida is a great place, it was one of my favourite holidays ever.

I agree with you about Asia, though i've only ever been to Thailand, but it was very nice despite the pollution. I would have gone to Hong Kong on the way back from Australia last year to soften to blow of the flight back, but because of sars we couldn't and so instead of two days there we had 4 hours in the Sinapore (sp) airport...woop de doo. I'd really like to visit Japan, with their technology and earthquakes, it all looks very intresting, although the way they bow makes me uneasy.

Same here, NY was such a huge letdown for me. Cape Cod was probably the best American experience I ever had. It's such a heavenly place.

The low point of my trip was trying to get into Webster Hall with a drunk friend. We never got in because of him

Another low point: taking the Chinatown from NY to Boston and not being able to get off the bus to piss (it was a minibus). I ended up getting off at a tollbooth and having to take a leak in front of everyone.

Africa probably isn't that nice to stay in for a huge amount of time, it's very different to what you'll be used to, but even a day is enough time to get very tanned, so that's good.

....I want a holiday. I'm sure i'll have one next year.

I'm English and French. I was just saying tourists because I was on a J-1 visa in the US (Harvard Square in Cambridge, next to Boston, you probably know the place) and before that, in Canada.

fair enough, and no, i havent been around much so i havent been to cambridge yet. sorta went through it. been to boston lots tho.

I think Vegas is worth seeing purely for the novelty, which is everywhere, although being under 21 doesn't leave you much to do really, and nothing's cheap. On the whole the parts of New York I've been to were anything but vile, much cleaner than most English cities, but I wouldn't want to spend my entire holiday there. Only been to Florida once when I was five, so all I really remember is Disney Land, going back this year though. California... can't really be summed up by me as I've only seen parts of it, San Fransisco was a nice enough place, then we drove down the Big Sur coastal road for a while before going inland to Bakersfield and Death Valley, that was definately worth seeing.

Yeah I was 16 when I went with my parents, I never actually got chucked out of anywhere, but they wouldn't let me within about 5 feet of anything gambling related, and I had to stand away from the bar when my parents bought drinks! Did go and see the Blue Man Group though, they were amazing.

Edit: How the heck did I forget to mention seeing the Grand Canyon? We only spent about an hour at the Canyon itself but the sheer size of it takes your breath away.
I would quite like to see Death Valley, though it can't compare to the great barrier reef - Australia was the ultimate holiday, i wish i was there right now. *Sigh*

not as grubby as the Chinese driver who asked my girlfriend if she couldn't give me a bottle to piss in.

If you don't like long distances, and everything being so big, you should try New England. The trouble is, it's not very representative of the rest of the country.

lol, that reminds me of the time my friend pissed in a bottle then told somebody else it was apple juice and they drank it, God that was gross.

I don't mind long distances, i love a long road with nobody about, what i don't like is millions of people all walking about and getting in the way...(i'm a bit anti-social.)
