how does clearing work? is it easier to get into than the actual process of applying in September or are you more or less guaranteed a place?
Furthermore, if you get rejected from a university say for midwifery, can you apply to the same university through clearing again?

Well on results day if you don't get into uni, you then ring up other uni's that have clearing and see what courses they have, they ask you for your grades.
It would be easier has the uni's would be a lot more lenient as they want to fill up spaces.

Yes, it is possible. You may apply for the same uni that they rejected you in.

Does it have to be on results day? Ucas say if you haven't received any offers, or all of the offers you have received aren't from the university that you want?
and thank you for your info

Not to want to upset you, but midwifery is almost impossible to get a place through clearing. And it would be impossible to get into somewhere you'd already applied to if they'd rejected you after having an interview, sorry.

Here are some really useful pages that explain clearing really well and will hopefully put your mind at ease:

    https://www.ucas.com/ucas/undergradu...s-use-clearing
    http://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/clearing/

This video really clearly explains the process too - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbLrGQEo6jg

This is specific to clearing courses in Midwifery - https://www.whatuni.com/advice/clear...ng-2016/26033/

Good luck for results day, hopefully everything goes well!
