Or are weddings really boring/pointless? I mean I get its a celebration of love and blah blah but all you do dress up nice to go sit and eat stuff, like it's pretty shite if you think about it

    I agree
Although I'm not engaged I'm way too awkward and shy to want so much attention on me on my wedding day. The actual marriage is way more important

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one, my mother thought it was weird when I said they were boring and my mates think just because I don't like them it means I'm "against love" or something, which really is not the case

I think the people there make a wedding really, my mum had inflatable twister for the guests which was a great laugh and being with the other bridesmaids and some cheesy dancing made the last wedding i went to very enjoyable. But i can understand that they're not everyone's cup of tea i suppose.

haha its not you at all! From the bride/groom and close family members perspective i get it, its a special day celebrating you. I just never understand why they want everyone and their dog there. so many weddings i've been to people have invited old friends, neighbours, people they USED to work with, people they barely know, a friend of a friend and I'm like.... why? why do you want a bunch of strangers at your wedding and why would these strangers care enough to turn up. well ok free booze but still, so very pointless.

And i especially don't understand people who spend a ridiculous amount of money trying to create the special day. where did the extra money go towards? - table settings, flower decorations, fancy cutlery - seriously does anyone even notice that sh**? what a waste of money. who cares about damn table decorations?! what a stupid thing to put yourself into debt for...

Well, I did almost fall asleep at the first wedding I went to.

Nah, I don't like them if I'm honest. At the two I've been to, (family) I've known hardly anyone there. I find them boring.
