hey there im in yr 11 transferring to 12, in September , basically i kinda flopped my gcses because it was a really bad year for me so i want to spend one more yr retaking gcses but as you know my spec has changed can someone please thouroughly explain the changes for me, apart from the fact that your graded 1-9 what subjects have changed ? and what will the exams be like? what subjects are still the same? what subjects are offered? how does science work can i still do extension sci? thanks alot xx

All I know is that from all the GCSEs are changing and so is the grading system. I'm taking RE and Russian next year with the old grading system ,however, my other 11 GCSEs have changed. I'd suggest buying the new textbooks which state that they follow the new GCSE format.

If you resit in 2017, you'll be doing the 9-1 spec for English and Maths. Everything else is the same. From 2018, the old spec will be obsoleted, and it'll all be 9-1.
