At what age does one qualify to say "Back when I was a kid" or something similar?

I mean, I feel I can say it now in reference to some things (5 year olds having mobile phones) and so on, but anyway, yes. When do you think a person is allowed to say "When I was a kid..." or "back in my day..."?

Now, but then again it can look pretencious I suppose if you are talking to someone older who hasn't really done much with their life.

I keep saying that...'When I was young kids didn't wear clothes like that...', or 'TV was so much better when we were kids...', 'When we were little we weren't that disrespectful were we?' etc...
Makes me feel old, I don't like it

When you are old & grey, and like 68.

You don't want people knowing you are a moaning old git at like 16-20 years old...

You can talk about people younger than you (so long as there is a gap of about a decade) So "When I was younger/Back in the day/etc. Barbies and Polly Pockets were all the rage, not these crappy Bratz for five year olds."

    Oh I don't know.

Walking through Boots near the end of October with my mother, and Christmas decorations were already up.

I was moaning so much the woman in front was laughing

I made "Grumpy Old Men" look tame  :p:

That's an exception, Christmas Decor up at the end of October is just stupid, and there to be moaned at.

the Grumpy old Men are superb.

    I'm right.

The exact age is 74 years, 3 months, 24 days, 3 hours, 29 minutes and 57 seconds.

After this time you are able to say "back in my days..."

    Look, my friend,
back then, when I was a newly young adult I often used to ponder about how much things have changed from when I used to be a teenager.
But now, I more often aim my thoughts at my first steps of life... aah the nature, the lack of all technology, how wonderful life used to be until I got my first GameBoy at age 11.
