'Best friend' didn't remember my birthday but bought a present for their other friend watch

    • Thread Starter

I've been best friends with this guy (we're both guys) for about 5 years now which we have both established. It was my birthday in February and he didn't remember my birthday so had to remind him. I was s little upset at the time but I just assumed that the things going on in his life were why he forgot.

Anyway, it's the summer now and he's also got this other close friend who he considers a close friend but has bought a present for him 2 months prior! It made me feel neglected a bit when he was telling me what he got his friend because it was funny (which it was) but it made me feel like I'm just a friend to him now.

Any ideas? I consider him a really close best friend but this clearly doesn't show itself from him.

In my experience, sometimes it may seem like someone who is close to you doesn't feel the same way when they do they just don't show it as much as we want. The only thing I would say is ask him tell him you are worried you are losing him and maybe mention how hurt you were about him forgetting your birthday. Then you can work it out.

    1. Did he buy you a present in the end?
    2. Just forget his present,.
    3. Not worth getting upset over imo.
