Do you know about the Wicked Young Writers competition? You should definitely check it out. Here's a link: http://www.wickedyoungwriterawards.c...-the-award.php

I regret not entering writing competitions, but do try to scout all local W competitions. Perhaps your local newspaper (I.e borough/ town/ village) has a column dedicated to young people/ writers.

My school used to hold writing competitions for our school magazine, so do try to enter one if your school holds one.

Doing that will give you the experience, as well as setting you up when you try to enter national/ outer- school competitions. Nonetheless, there's nothing wrong with jumping into the deep end if you feel confident about your abilities.

I gave a quick search on google now, and there seems to be so many opportunities.

    Good luck!!
