Hi, just wondering how physically demanding the NPLQ course is?
Do they actually test whether you can do the pre-requisites on the course?
What is the longest distance you have to swim and is it timed? (Not including the assessment swimming but the swimming during practice)
How strict are they if you're a few seconds out of a certain pre-requisite?

    Thanks!

Yes the pre-requisites are essential and you are tested on them..
There are two timed swims...The first you need to swim 20 meters to a casualty and get them back to the shallow end in 65 seconds (This one is 50 metres)
Then you get a minute break, you need to swim 20 meters to a face down casualty and get them back 20 meters (40 metre swim) in 45 seconds.

They are strict on the times and if you don't pass they'll just make you do it again. If you get 67 seconds you have to do it again, those few seconds could be the breaking point for someones life or not.

Okay that's great thanks for letting me know! Also for the 100m swim in front and back do you have to do them straight after each other (i.e. swim 200m continuously) or do you get a break in between?
