    Hi,
I've applied to do some volunteer work at the local museum for two days a week over the summer. Tomorrow I'm meant to go in for an induction session but I dont know what this is! Will I just being doing a shift or will they just talk through general information with me? How long do you think it will last?

    Thanks

you should ask them how long the session will be but I can't see it being a full shift, especially if you're only doing 2 days! Inductions usually include some basics about the role (e.g. shift times etc), safety information and any other important things to know and then some brief training, it might also include a tour of the museum. I doubt it will be more than a couple of hours but it's probably worth checking in case they're invisioning you shadowing someone for a while.
