    Hello,

I am a first year student studying at university. I think i would mostly likely fail the resits.

How would my student finance be effected,
If i take a gap year or retaking the first year?

I had already applied for 2016/17 tuition loans & grant.

Your student finance wouldn't be affected either way. Everyone is entitled to one extra year of funding in case they need to retake a year. It doesn't matter if you take a gap year or not, that extra year of funding will still be there.

    Hi saylih

If you are retaking the year, you may need the university to confirm you are in year 1 again if you have selected you are going into year 2.
If you take a gap year, you would need to reapply next year and cancel this years application.

    Thanks
