I took the science exams in may higher tier and I think that chem and bio when ok but physics was quite hard. What happens if I want to retake next year? Do I have to do my controlled assessment all over again?? If I only do bad in physics can I just retake physics and not bio and chem?

If you were to retake your Physics, you'd have to retake every unit, and that includes your controlled assessment. Also, you do not have to retake Biology and Chemistry is well - you can just retake Physics individually (this only applies if you take triple science).

The controlled assessment doesn't have to be retaken - that can be carried forward IIRC.

Ah, yes, you're correct. AQA says "You can carry forward your controlled assessment and Speaking and Listening endorsement, or re-do both units as well." Sorry my bad.

I'm not sure if this is practical. I think a lot of universities only consider your first attempt at them, unless you had extenuating circumstances, so it may be better to just leave it and focus on your a levels.
