Polth- didn't know you were into theory of knowledge and philosophy!!

Do a search on amazon for theory of knowledge- the number of books thats comes up is amazing and most cover the topic in question...

Another one to try is how do you know you are not a brain in vat of preserving fluid!?

had some interesting answers for that! I'll pm u all my class notes and links if you want!
Theory of knowledge is a part of philosophy/a topic in philosophy, not something completely distinct. And the proper name for it is Epistemology.

And the brain in a vat thing was posed by Putnam.

Just thought I'd point that out to those interested in this subject.

UMMMM... Nops sorry- tok is classified as a seperate course to philo- they 2 cross alot and the brain in the vat was also posed by head of TOK department.

but not worth the stress of arguing about, both courses open you up to different ways of thinking!

hmm.....it did come across as supercilious, sorry

But I'm still inclined to think that philosophy is introspective, self-indulgent and not very useful.

I would be happy to be instructed on it's benefits however.

Does everything which matters have to be "useful"?
