I have just recently accepted a full time job at Barclays bank and my parents want me to go from paying £10/month to £120!! I am 17, 18 on the 18th. I just wondered how much everyone else was paying and if this is fair or not!
please could you leave your age and how much you have to pay
    Thanks

I don't think it's fair, unless your parents are really struggling. I don't pay anything to live at home (I'm 19) and if I was expected to pay $240 a month, I'd start looking elsewhere. Then again, if you get free meals, electric, internet, etc, and your parents give you the privacy you need, it might be okay.

Still, no one else I know irl has to pay to live with their parents.

yeah i do get the electric etc but thats what the money will cover, but i think its a little steep - it's not as though i am a lazy slob - i do have to help wash up, do my own washing, hoover etc

dunno..seems like a lot, i don't live at my parents anymore but when i did, i didn't pay a dime

Try bargaining with them? If you really can't afford it or because you want to save up or something

When I lived at home full time I didn't pay, but that's because I was a student. If I had a full time job I'd expect to pay about that much.

Bearing in mind my rent alone for where I am now is £280 a month, and that is cheap. Then I have bills and food.
