We’ve now published the results of our annual national training survey. Every year, doctors in training – and, from this year, trainers – give us their feedback on the quality of their local medical training. You can now explore what they said on our website at www.gmc-uk.org/nts.
Our data tool lets you search by NHS trust board and you can filter the results by specialty too. So, if you’re heading in to your final year at medical school and thinking about your Foundation Programme application, this data can help show how current doctors in training feel about the quality of training in their workplace.
Over 53,000 doctors in training and 23,000 trainers answered this year’s survey, so there is a lot of data to get your teeth into.
As always, if you have any questions about the data or how it’s used, feel free to post in this thread and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

This is a good resource to look at along with other options like talking to people about their experience in particular deaneries. From personal experience looking back the results have fit quite well with what I have experienced. Obviously talking to people with person experience of a hospital is a very important thing to do also if you can as that gives you the facility to ask questions etc but this is another resource to help you make decisions.
