I don't really know where else to post this. I'm 18 years old, a girl, and I identify as bisexual. I've known I'm bi for a little over a year now. I really want to tell my parents - I don't want to hurt them and make them feel that I can't or don't want to open up to them - but I don't know how to tell them.
I'm more worried about how they might react. Neither of my parents are homophobic - at least, they've never said "Being gay is wrong." However, my mum made a comment before about gay and lesbian relationships on TV, and how she doesn't need to be reminded of it all the time.
What's worrying me the most is that they're going to say that I'm not bisexual - I'm just confused or just another teenager or I'm experimenting. I've never had a relationship, either, so I feel they might use that against me.
I've only come out to my best friend so far, and she's been great about it. I really want the same support from my parents. How do I tell them??
How do I tell my parents I'm bisexual? watch

You should be direct and honest. Perhaps arrange a time to tell them the news.
But you should only do it if you're sure they won't kick you out etc.

I'm in a similar situation to you but I know that my parents are homophobic. I don't think I can ever tell them.
