Apologies, I probably should've put this under 'Part Time & Temporary Employment' - I'm new and still finding my way around!
Once again, sorry!

Aw, man...

I guess I'll be depending on the Careers Department at school to help me out then... if they can...

Where abouts in Derbyshire?

Elliott Mather gave me a week in Chesterfield. They have a Matlock office as well. I think they might be renamed Mathers now.
I just wrote a letter asking for a week unpaid tea-making and enclosed a CV

Chesterfield and Matlock are a bit out of my way. :frown:

Thanks anyway, I'll keep looking...

I sent out maybe 30 letters and CVs to local firms asking for work experience and only got 2 replies, and one of them was about 4 months later after I'd forgotten all about sending the letter!
Keep trying guys

I tried a fair few firms back when I was at school: no luck so I gave up. I heard recently that a cousin who is in the same position I was when I tried got some: so it is the luck of the draw I think. I think Geldards (at Pride Park) are probably the best firm in Derby though - for commercial work that is, I don't know what you're interested in.

But I would say that if this is to put on UCAS forms to study law I wouldn't worry about it too much: but do try to sit in the public galleries at the crown court, that should be enough to show an interest in Law. I'm not saying give up, I'm just saying don't let it do your head in - no biggy if you can't get any.

Yeh I was rejected by Geldards as well, although I did apply very late last month.
