    Hi,

I am going to be using clearing as I am applying late to university, and I have spoken to UCLAN over the phone about a course but forgot to mention accommodation.

Does anyone know the chances of securing a place in halls after clearing?

    thanks.

They only guarantee them to firm students i think, but there's loads of private halls that should have space left if needs must.

Someone who went through the normal ucas application and made it a firm choice.

When you apply to unis through UCAS and receive offers you have to choose your no 1 uni which is your ' firm ' choice and also an 'insurance' uni which is your second choice. if you get the grades for your firm choice you will go there but if you don't yet you do get the grades for your ' insurance ' choice then you go their instead. hence those who pick X uni for their ' firm ' choice are more likely to be given priority regarding accommodation as they're the ones who have picked X UNI as no 1 choice

I was going to be living in a lovely 6 bedroom house in september but unfortunatly won't be able to return so there's a spare room in this house. It's located just behind the town centre, is a 10 minute walk to the campus, has double beds in all rooms and is £75 pwpp with roughly an extra £5 a week for electric bills. let me know if you're interested!
