    you can read and download a free book of economics notes. "Unit 3 Managing the Economy" deals with Gross Domestic Product. Pages 112-114 cover how GDP is measured and some problems in doing this. Pages 115-121 deal with economic growth and GDP, which is what you asked originally.

    If you don't want the complete economics course, just download Unit 3 on its own.

    GDP measures the value of goods and services produced in that country - ie. a country's output. Growth in GDP indicates an increase in the output of the country.
