So i currently have a 'normal' current bank account with Natwest but want to set up a student account with Santander, should I just switch from Natwest to Santander or have two accounts? Is there any reason to switch?

It's more about what you plan to do with them and also if you can meet all requirements having two accounts. Like some need you to pay in £500 a month or something or you pay fees.

If having everything in the same account is easier to manage for you then you would switch. If not then you can have 2 accounts.

I personally keep 2 accounts. Pay the student loans into one, then transfer the rent and bill money to the other one so I always have enough for rent since I have to pay monthly. It's easier for me that way to manage everything. And then I also have a savings account that I transfer half of my wage to each month so I have something to fall back on and I get enough from my loan and half the wage to get food from.
