Hi, I graduated in psychology with sports science 2 years ago and was planning to do PE teacher training. I had recently been thinking of changing to do maths teacher training next year and hoping someone could give me some advice/information on what I would have to do to convert.

Thanks in advance for any help*

Well, what maths background do you have? GCSE? A Level? Both? Did your psychology course have any mathematics components?

Speak to the universities you may be able to do this if you complete a subject knowledge enhancement course. I have known someone who did become a maths teacher after a sports science degree. Normally you need an A level in maths however best thing is to speak to the universities.

I know someone who did it the other way around. She became a Physics teacher just for the bursary, and then when she got to her school, just loitered around the PE dept, and wore sports clothes and volunteered to do clubs until eventually the PE department adopted her.
