It was quite good last year im not sure what they've got planned for this year though. I really fancy freshers ball this year  or some of the other partys. The bars tend to do good promotions and i stil have a pot noodle from freshers fair in the cupboard. I wouldnt bother with a pass unless your going to go to almost all of the events.
Might see you at one of the events

It was alright last year, I got the pass and used it quite alot. The ball was fun but we left early to go to a club (pretty much what we did for everything). The hypnotist night was a good laugh and I'd recommend going to that if it's on this year. Most of it was quite good but really busy which got a bit annoying but atleast you get to meet people. We had the "welcome team" come around every day and tell us what was happening and where too meet etc. which was good so look out for them (orange T-shirts.)

Deffinately go to the SU events but head into town for a few nights (can do both in 1 night) aswell so you can get a feel for the town before the Newcastle lot and seconds/thirds are back so it's a little bit quieter.

Depending on your halls freshers is also fab for flat parties
Sounds like my thing to be honest  Hopefully i will make some friends on freshers week but im usually quite shy so hopefully i can overcome that

I'm sure you'll make loads. Within freshers as well you have your course intorductory sessions so you will meet course friends too. You get talking to people in really random situations, don't be afriad to say hi to someone they are probably feeling just the same as you  I'm coming back early for freshers

freshers week last year was mental....as far as i can remeber most people who had bands went to the SU first and then out to the club, there will be something on everywhere. tiger tiger mondays, liquid/bamboo wednesdays, attic thursday, then wiggle on sat. last year dick and dom were at wiggle and scott mills was at the freshers ball (i dont remember much of this lol) my tip is just get wasted before u go out and u will talk to every1, get as many numbers as u can in the first few days and then just text every1 on the night to see wat they r doing, if ur staying in quay point, bar6 are organising loads in freshers week cos im working for them, so get urselfs down there 3 trebles for a fiver!!! and four quid a bottle of wine oh yesss.
this year i think freshers week is guna be messy, as far as i know most people i have spoke to r coming back earlier for freshers week, so town will be pretty busy hopefully with no newcastle students and just us from the polly! hha
seeeee you all there! xxxx

Pat Sharp and his fun house rocks! We had it at Wiggle during last year.

Ball is suits and formal dresses mainly but some people wore jeans with shirts don't worry too much just see what everyone else is wearing in your flat etc.

By the way if you want to do any of the activities that you have to sign up for, do it quickly because the places go fast!

read exact post in somewhere in the forum :s-smilie: oh wel...:p: worth getting one? depends how you going to use it tbh.. clubs, you won't exactly get free drinks and activities such as bowling, cocktail session, etc, you may pay extra as stated on the welcome activities guide but don't take my word for it.

I'm putting this welcome week pass on hold once i get most other things done first since I'll be on holiday tomorrow. As for the '7 days best of your life's', freshers week, they might be exaggerating but who knows..
