I have a website that is not really known and still working on (adding articles..etc) but is live.
The weird thing is despite not having much in terms of material on the site and it not being known. Despite that I have over 6000 registered users!
And most of these users register with strange emails and usernames eg: [email protected]. There are a lot of .ru, .pl mails. At any one time at least there are 3 of them logged in.

What the hell is going on?
    Is my website being hacked?
Should I delete all 6000 users?

I wouldn't think it's being hacked, perhaps it's just bots scouring the internet, looking for websites that turn famous where they can place their ads.

Thanks man, it is a relief to hear that this is not some sort of nefarious hackers.

No it's probably just bots, you should try and implement a captcha system for your website, I recommend Google reCaptcha, it's very good.
