    The best way to deal with pessimism in my opinion is to experience new things, to try to enjoy the small things in life.
    I'm no psychologist, but isolation has to be one of the aggravating factors of pessimism, since you're never proven wrong in your way of thought (everything's gonna happen badly, etc.), and then you develop a tendancy to wrongfully predict future occasions.
    Let yourself be surprised, don't refuse invitations by default, that sort of things.
    To shift thoughts, there has to be a shift in actions.
